ENTRY FEE INFORMATION
£5    Purely to cover administration as this event should be seen as the "pinnacle" of the event which we hope most people will play in.

GENERAL INFORMATION

All players will be required for all rounds - a half point bye in rounds 1-4 is possible as long as the entry is large enough.  Scoring half point byes in round 5 are acceptable if they are booking in advance of the first round and not changed under any circumstances once the event have started.

Rounds are scheduled for 20 minutes each on the clock plus 10 second Fischer increments (ie. 10 seconds are added to clocks every time you move).  We are using this time control so the event runs alongside the adult event in terms of time.

CCF have the normal insurance to cover for their public liability. However, please note that, although CCF will do their best to supervise players on the day, legal responsibility for the safety of your child is yours and not CCF’s. Your child’s school and your child’s trainer cannot be held liable for the safety of your child.

VENUE: 84-90 Chipstead Valley Road, Coulsdon, Surrey. CR5 3BA

PARKING - There is free street parking fairly close to the west of the venue.  There is a car park charging a little over £4 for the day in Lion Green Road (just round the corner).

TRAINS - Any trains to Coulsdon South or Coulsdon Town stations give you around a 6-7 minute walk to the venue. Both Stations are clearly marked on the map.

BUSES - The 166 and 498 pass the venue. The 60, 405 and 463 come into central Coulsdon. Do not take buses to Old Coulsdon unless you know it comes through Coulsdon town centre as well.

VENUE ADDRESS - this is the same address as at the top of this letter. The venue is almost in the centre of the map and has an arrow pointing at it.

CONTACT - 020 8645 9586 is the number of the CCF office and should be used in the event of a late arrival.

HOW THE EVENTS WILL RUN
All the players, whatever their age, will play in 1 tournament.  This does mean that an Under 18 winner and an Under 6 winner will be in the same event.  However, pairings are done based on score, so players will hopefully find their level as the tournament goes on - and there will be 4 trophies at stake giving everyone (hopefully) involved a chance of winning something.

OTHER GENERAL INFORMATION
Medals:
Every child playing will be presented with a medal, but only if they stay and receive it at the prize giving. We consider the prize giving as important a part of the event as the playing and expect every player to remain for it; it is generally considered bad manners to leave before prize giving, especially if we are on time (unless this is pre-booked at the start of the day). We will not normally pass on medals to friends or hand them out early or via schools.
Refreshments: Hot and Cold Drinks + Tuck Shop.  We do not do hot and cold prepared food.
Clothes: As far as CCF is concerned, players can wear what they wish.
Advise us: of any medical conditions you feel we should be aware of in respect of your son/daughter.
