Position A : Championship 2nd out of 8, B : 7th out of 8th
SEASON 2021-2022    -    CHESSTERS (1 team)
Players Chino Atako, Rohan Bansal, Delroy Bennett, Paul Braithwaite (Capt), Timur Kuzhelev, Tommy River and Garry Sorhaindo
Position 1st: - 7 out of 12
SEASON 2018-2019     -    CHESSTERS (2 teams)
Players Delroy Bennett, Paul Braithwaite (Capt), Greg Charles, Aaron Fernandes, Max Ma, Humphrey Povey, Garry Wimble, Michael Woolley, Tim Yu.
Position 1st: Championship - 2 of 8,     2nd: League 1 - 5 of 6.
Comments Once again, it was a contrasting season for the 2 Chessters teams.  The 1st team ran head to head with The Monday Knights 1 for most of the season and needed to better their result in the final game to take the title.  Amazingly both teams managed to lose their final match 3-1 on an amazingly tense final evening, so Chessters clinched promotion to the top division by the skin of their teeth!  The 2nd team, on the other hand, finished at the bottom of the pile.
SEASON 2017-2018     -    CHESSTERS (2 teams)
Players Joshua Beukes, Paul Braithwaite (Capt), Andy Couchman, William Golding, Humphrey Povey, Mateen Shaikh, Nischal Thatte, Dominic Wells, Garry Wimble, Tim Yu.
Position 1st: Championship - 2 of 8,     2nd: League 1 - 5 of 6.
Comments It was a contrasting season for the 2 Chessters teams.  The 1st team was in the hunt for promotion to the Premiership for much of the season, but defeat against pawn Curry in round 3 (their only loss of the season) helped enable the eventual title winners to keep Chessters at bay.  A good season nonetheless but they may have a need for signing s in the summer if they want to go 1 place better.  The 2nd team managed just 2 wins - and both of them as a direct result of their opponents defaulting boards.
SEASON 2016-2017     -    CHESSTERS (2 teams)
Players Joshua Beukes, Paul Braithwaite, William Golding, Charlie Metcalfe, Humphrey Povey, Mateen Shaikh, Nischal Thatte, Jijjith Thukaram, Dominic Wells, Garry Wimble.
Position 1st: Championship - 4 of 8,     2nd: League 1 - 4 of 6.
Comments Not having a captain for much of the season did not seem to deter the team as they repeated their 4th placed finish of last season.  Their 2nd team's bottom half finish would have been a top half finish had it not been for the loss of a match point, as a result of too many penalty points for defaulted boards.
SEASON 2015-2016     -    CHESSTERS (2 teams)
Players Joshua Beukes, Daniel Blythe, Paul Braithwaite (Cap), William Golding, Lucian Heeler, Charlie Metcalfe, Humphrey Povey, Mateen Shaikh, Jijjith Thukaram, Dominic Wells, George Wright.
Position 1st: Championship - 4th of 8,     2nd: League 1 - 2nd of 8.
Comments The first team had a solid season finishing mid-table after promotion last season; they didn't actually taste defeat until match 5 and were in the hunt for promotion until then.  The 2nd team also had a very good season and perhaps would have won the League 1 title had they not been up against the dominant Pawn Curry 2 team.
SEASON 2014-2015     -    CHESSTERS (2 teams)
Players Aaron Fernandes, Lucian Heeler, Soumiya Ragavan, William Golding, Daniel Blythe, George Wright, Mateen Shaikh, Dominic Wells, Joshua Beukes, Paul Braithwaite (Cap), Humphrey Povey
Position A Team: League 1 - 1st out of 6       Cup - Lost in Plate Q-F         B Team: League 2 - 5th out of 6       Cup - Lost in Plate Intermediate round
Comments There was a shock title win for the 1st team as they beat leaders Hat-Trick in the penultimate round to give themselves a chance; then edged ahead when Hat-Trick failed to beat bottom-of-the-table The Monday Knights in their final game.  The 2nd team finished 1 off the bottom in League 2 whilst both sides went out as early as they could in the cup competition.
SEASON 2013-2014     -    CHESSTERS (2 teams)
Players A: Mark Houghton, George Wright, Lucian Heeler, Mateen Shaikh, Paul Braithwaite, Joshua Beukes, Owain Jones.
B: Daniel Blythe, William Golding, Soumaiya Ragavan, Dominic Wells, Cheuk Nam Wong.
Position A Team: League 1 - 8th out of 8       Cup - Lost in Cup intermediate round         B Team: League 1 - 3rd out of 8       Cup - Lost in Plate Intermediate round
Comments The squad had to be split into 2 effectively different teams for the season as both were in the same division.  As it turned out they managed to avoid having to play each other and Team B had a much better season than Team A.  Whereas the B team only lost 1 match, the A team only won 1 match.  The A team finished 1 place below the promotion positions whilst the A team finished bottom.  The A team went out in the Intermediate round of teh Cup, whilst the B team went the same way at the same stage of the Plate.
SEASON 2012-2013     -    CCF JUNIOR CLUB
Players Ryan Eaw, George Wright, Lucian Heeler, Ashleigh Curry-Machado, Paul Braithwaite (Capt), Ryan Hewitt.
Position League 1 - 3rd out of 6       Cup - Lost in Cup Play-Off Round
Comments They managed to finish 3rd thanks to Chesslea dropping points due to lack of appearances, but nonetheless did well; only once defeated (other than board count) before Christmas.  The 2nd half of the season wasn't so productive but they managed a good win against Chesslea in the last round, which helped them into the podium position.
SEASON 2011-2012     -    CCF JUNIOR CLUB
Players Paul Braithwaite (Capt), Ryan Eaw, Lucian Heeler, Ryan Hewitt, Thomas Murphy, Adam Willmott
Position Championship - 10th out of 10
Comments Almost run as was originally intended, the squad was all about getting matches and without their top board of last season, they were always going to find results much harder to come by.
SEASON 2010-2011     -    CCF JUNIOR CLUB
Players Paul Braithwaite (Capt), Ryan Eaw, Lucian Heeler, Ryan Hewitt, Prashast Vir, Adam Willmott
Position Championship - 4th out of 8
Comments The squad was again stronger than the year before and a top half finish came partly as a result of Castles Knights losing some points.  Nonetheless, they will be reasonably happy with a mid-table finish, albeit not all of their players had come through the CCF Junior Club!
SEASON 2009-2010     -    CCF JUNIOR CLUB
Players Bobby Aspinall (Capt), Jon-Man Chung, Ryan Eaw, Lucian Heeler, Dominic Maillot, Prashast Vir, Adam Willmott
Position Championship - 7th out of 8
Comments A 7th placed finish marked a place rise on last season but there was a slightly stronger squad.  Problems over appearances denied them a finish outside the bottom 2 as extra players had to be brought in to avoid defaults.  But the team was being run for experience so the results were not too much of an issue.
SEASON 2008-2009     -    CCF JUNIOR CLUB
Players Giles Clift-Simpson, Lewis Lou, James Maguire, Dominic Maillot, Anish Sethi, Krishna Shiatis
Position Championship - 8th out of 8
Comments This team was formed to replace Surrey Raiders and was seen as an opportunity to get members of the CCF Junior Club to start their activity in the senior club.  Although they lost nearly every match, they will be pleased to have beaten Castles Knights.
